On Thurs, 10/30 we officially moved out of the condo and moved most of our things into storage! After donating older cheaper furniture and pitching many items, I managed to fit everything I wanted to keep into my 6×7 storage unit (including all my new deck furniture 🙂 at East Bank Storage (though a few items had to go into Dave’s unit, photographed below.) We were both amazed at how smooth the move was! I’ve used Affordable Moving three times now and highly recommend them!
After the move, we enjoyed the best lobster roll in Chicago at South Branch, and then checked into the Sofitel for 2 nights and played tourists! They gave us a great room with incredible city views!
On Friday afternoon, Dave and I went to the Driehaus Museum and were impressed by the collection of Tiffany glass. Check it out: http://www.driehausmuseum.org/
The weather was memorable on Friday with huge Lake Michigan waves, flooding on Lake Shore Drive, and snow and sleet! While stuck in horrendous traffic on Wacker Drive we saw the tight rope all setup for Nik Wallenda on Sat – I’m sure he was glad to not be doing it on Fri!
Friday evening we braved the elements and walked a block to Ditka’s for steak.
Sat morning was spent running last minute errands – post office, dropping champagne and keys for the buyer, saying final farewell to the condo where I have spent an incredible 13 years!
Charleston – here we come!
